Franklin RG3102 (A70) 5G Mobile Hotspot FAQ

Network mode and configuration support guidelines.

Why is my RG3102 locked to "Automatic" connection mode, and can I get custom software to force 4G LTE only on AT&T?
Thank you for reaching out! As the hardware manufacturer, we do not provide custom firmware modifications or direct software downloads to alter cellular band preferences. Firmware distributions and network parameters are managed entirely by the wireless service provider.

For AT&T branded devices, manual selection between different Radio Access Technologies (RATs)—such as forcing the hotspot to stay exclusively on 5G or 4G LTE—is completely restricted by AT&T's carrier requirements. Because of these ecosystem constraints, the option is locked to "Automatic" so the carrier can dynamically manage your connection based on current network cell-tower conditions.
